Overseas Cover

MIPS has made arrangements with the Medical Protection Society Limited (MPS) for discretionary claims-incurred medical indemnity protection to be made available to MIPS members working overseas, in a country listed below, as a hospital/employer indemnified doctor.

Membership of the MPS will be provided for approved applicants working in hospital/indemnified positions in these countries for the balance of their MIPS membership year at no additional cost:

England
Scotland
Wales
Ireland
Israel
South Africa
Kenya
Hong Kong
Singapore
Malaysia
New Zealand
West Indies

A second year may be granted at the discretion of the MPS, but only if MIPS membership is maintained and current at all times.

MIPS also provides overseas cover for doctors who are:

escorting Australian cultural and sporting groups overseas OR
providing gratuitous health services to third world countries as part of an aid program (excluding the US, and where US law presides)

Medical Indemnity Protection Society Ltd (MIPS) is an Australian Financial Services Licensee (AFS Lic. 301912).
