Webinar: The examination of a Coroner’s inquest

We have assembled a panel of experts to explain and rationalise the sequence of events following the death of a member’s patient, to the Coroner’s inquest and the Coroners findings and recommendations.

The purpose and requirements of the coronial process will be explained as you travel through the life of a coronial inquest. The event will incorporate the demonstration of important stages of this process in a series of informative panel discussions and audio vignettes featuring our facilitator and panel solicitors familiar with this jurisdiction.

We will demonstrate risk management from a practice perspective, how a review of a coroner’s findings/recommendations are studied and the potential for civil proceedings and coroner referral to AHPRA.

Learning outcomes
• Understand the reportable death requirements to the Coroner
• List the purpose, processes and procedures of the coroner’s court.
• Implement strategies to minimise clinico-legal and regulatory exposure concerning a patient’s death
