MIPS membership ceases at 30 June each year. Check with your existing provider for cancellation fees. You can pay your membership fee by monthly instalments at no additional cost.

Types of cover available to recent graduates

Recent graduate basis

Your MIPS cover will be under the recent graduate basis if you have graduated within the last five years and not commenced an accredited specialist or dental specialist training program.

Registrar basis

Your MIPS cover will be under the registrar basis if you are undertaking a specialist training program approved by an Australian Medical Council (AMC) accredited college.

Whether you’re a registrar or recent graduate, you may be able to extend your membership to cover practice not indemnified by your employer at no additional cost.
