In order to login to your account, you need your username/member number and password.
Your username is your MIPS Membership Number. Your membership number will be displayed on documentation we have issued to you. If you
do not know your Membership Number please contact MIPS Member Services.
When you join MIPS or provide a new email address a temporary password will be issued to you via email. If you no longer have access to this
email then you will need to select “forgot username or password”.

Type your username/member number into the relevant field.
Type your password into the relevant field.
Click on the Login button.
problems logging in
If your password or username/member number was entered incorrectly an error message will be displayed. If this occurs you will need to retype
your details and click on the Login button again. If you enter your password incorrectly three times consecutively, your access to the system will be
cancelled and an error message is displayed on the fourth attempt to login. You will need to contact MIPS Member Services to have your
password changed. Once you have your new password you then need to perform the process outlined below 'Logging in for the first time'.
logging in for the first time
If this is the first time you have logged onto this system, when you enter your password you will be prompted to reset your password. Type in the
temporary password provided to you via email with the subject heading “Welcome to My MIPS Membership”, followed by the new password
chosen by yourself. You will need to confirm the new password by re-entering the password in the Confirm New Password field.
Click on the Submit button.
forgot username and password
If you have forgotten your password or you wish to reset your password, select the forgot username or password? link on the top right hand corner
of the login screen. You will need to enter your email address that is recorded with MIPS and you will then receive an email with the subject
“Password for Login to Medical Indemnity Protection Society”. Select the link included in the email, this will present you with a screen to enter and re-enter a new password. Your username is your member number.
security - site encryption
This service uses a secure session with a 128 bit security key. The secure session is indicated by the padlock icon in the status bar at the bottom
of the browser window. All data transmitted while using this service will be encrypted. The session will automatically time-out after a period of
security - timing out
The session will automatically time-out after a period of inactivity to maintain security of your information. If you have logged on to this service and
have not used any function for a significant period of time, you will be automatically logged out of the service. If you then choose any function you
will be returned to the member logon page. This function has been included to protect your personal and account details being displayed or
changed if the session has been inadvertently left logged on.
