Webinar: Just tell the truth - reports, certificates and evidence

To be presented by Emma Harman and Rob Samut from MIPS Queensland panel solicitors, Barry Nilsson.  All health practitioners are authorised to sign various documents and certificates. Treating practitioners and experts may be required to provide reports or assessments. Any practitioner may be called upon to provide evidence in medical negligence or other personal injury litigation, a Coronial inquest, a social security benefit dispute,  criminal or Family Law setting.

In all cases where you go to print – be prepared to give evidence in court.

Being properly prepared and cognisant of all the issues is paramount for all witnesses. This webinar will provide tips and strategies to ensure an understanding of all the requirements for authorising documents and providing reports, your AHPRA code of conduct and the obligations on you by the courts. We will equip you with the requisite knowledge to best represent yourself if required to give evidence in your professional capacity.

Learning objectives:

1. Understand the significance of authorising certificates and writing reports
2. Identify the key requirements of providing legal evidence and consequences of not adhering to the courts
3. Implement strategies to effectively prepare as a witness
